M3 CAGE NUTS MOUNTING FASTENERS
Cage nuts (also known as clip nuts) are widely used in rack mounting and computer construction. The cage of this type of nut is generally clipped to a square hole in sheet metal, or to a metal mesh, creating a light-duty fixture which is versatile, easy to install, and easy replaced if damaged.
One of the major advantages of a cage nut is that it allows a variety of fasteners to be used within an assembly, as only a basic square hole is needed for installation.

Cage nuts have both the advantage of fast installation and strength of a steel nut, which floats within the spring steel cage to assist in screw alignment
