These clips are used on interior trim inlay panels on all series 3 and some X5.

The clips have a metal insert set into the plastic. Each decorative trim comes with a metal stud. When pushed through the centre of this clip, the insert clamps onto the stud, holding the trim in place. The clips are pushed into the holes and then rotated a quarter turn to lock in place.
